POP Goes Montreal
Five must-see acts at this year’s POP Montreal music festival
Eight years after its inception, the POP Montreal music festival returns to Montreal this September with talent, both new and familiar, that promises to rock the city for its five day run.
POP has showcased some of the world’s most talented recording artists and has plucked many others from obscurity, including the Arcade Fire, Metric, and the Kings of Leon. Out of over 400 acts, five bands promise unforgettable shows and are the must-see performances of the year. (...)
Karkwa
This local Francophone favourite recently released their fourth album which evokes well-deserved comparisons to the likes of Radiohead and Sufjan Stevens. Don’t let the French vocals deter you Anglophones. Karkwa effectively breaks down language barriers with their powerful melodies. Their distinct folk-meets-ambient sound is a killer combo that is sure to be a great show at this year’s festival.
September 30: $25 @ Metropolis
