If you're a fan of the arts, there's no better place to be this September than Toronto. As well as being the home of the Toronto International Film Festival (with its star-studded hockey musical and indie rock scores), the city will play host to the Polaris Music Prize on September 20. To celebrate the opening of the TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Polaris organizers have recruited short list nominees the Sadies, Karkwa and Radio Radio for a free concert in Toronto on Sunday (September 12).
The concert is open to the public and will take place at the TIFF Bell Lightbox at the corner of King and John. The music will begin at 11:30 a.m., with sets starting at one-hour intervals.
The fun doesn't end there for Polaris Music Prize followers. Together with the music education charity MusiCounts, the award organizers are offering fans a chance to watch the invite-only gala. There will be a live screening of the event taking place on the big screen at the Drake Lounge (located in the Drake Hotel).
According to a press release, the screening will include "collections for MusiCounts, along with iTunes cards giveaways, [and] a raffle for a choice of limited edition Polaris prints."
