Les Chemins de Verre is pitch perfect; a brilliant album worthy of its Polaris win. I'm a fan for life. Of all the records nominated for Polaris this year, Les Chemins De Verre is the one I was least familiar with on the day the shortlist was announced, and it's the one that I couldn't possibly live without today. Winning the 2010 Polaris Music Prize pretty much makes them hot as hot can be in 2010... even though they had released 3 previous albums before Les Chemins de Verre no one outside of Quebec knew who they were... what a pity that was... but pity no more... now almost everyone knows who they are. It took them a Polaris Prize nomination and win to get the attention of the country but to me, they were a great Canadian band regardless. That being said though, that win turned their year from lukewarm to sizzling hot. Sure it was a bit of a shock to many but come on, Karkwa are awesome!
